Makeup

Ashlee Hutchings is an Australian makeup artist and visual artist working across beauty, fashion, editorial and bridal.

Originally trained in photography, Ashlee’s approach to makeup is informed by image-making, with a focus on skin, texture, colour and the individual. Her work moves between natural, understated beauty and more expressive editorial work.

Ashlee holds a Post-Graduate Certificate of Visual Arts in Photography from Queensland College of Art, Griffith University.

She has lived and worked across Australia and internationally, including time in Los Angeles, Montréal and London, before returning to Australia in 2022.

Ashlee currently works independently as a makeup artist in Queensland and is available for editorial, commercial, bridal and private commissions.

Photography

Ashlee’s photographic practice centres around portraiture, fashion and the human subject.

Working across analogue and digital photography, her work explores beauty, identity and character through portraiture. Photography remains closely connected to her makeup practice, with both disciplines forming part of a broader approach to image-making.
